Kent is the Director of Aviation for HNTB’s South Central District and is located in the Houston office and has over 25 years of planning experience.
Kent spent the last 14 years with the Houston Airport System, serving seven years as assistant director of aviation. He has managed multiple airport system planning, administered the FAA’s Grant Program, and has directed the capital improvement program for Houston Airport System. His experience includes managing an airport system planning and programming office, airport planning projects and studies and airport environmental impact studies, as well as administering the FAA Airports Improvement Program grant program, working with communities and elected officials on the physical development of airports, and administering a capital improvement program.
Prior to his work in aviation, Dr. McLemore worked as an urban planner, transportation planner, zoning administrator, and as an academic instructor on planning methods. Dr. McLemore has also worked with military installations on master plans and project development while serving as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Kent received his bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from Texas A&M University. He is registered with the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a member of ACI, the American Planning Association (APA), the Greater Houston Partnership's Aviation Committee and the APA's Airports in the Region initiative. Kent and his wife reside in Galveston, Texas.
