Corporate Sustaining Membership
Corporate Sustaining Members are over 3,000 companies and businesses that are leaders in our Nation's engineering, architectural and construction industry. They plan, design, build, maintain and operate the Nation's facilities. A Sustaining Membership includes five individual memberships for the firm, a principal, three alternates and a young member (under 36). Sustaining Memberships are priced based on the number of a firm's employees:

  • Personally meet with the Post President and Regional Vice President on a frequent basis. Introduce your key executives to SAME.
  • Identify key contacts by associating with local Post members.
  • Attend Post meetings and arrange for the display of your firm's capabilities.
  • Investigate the possibility of Regional and National meeting displays and advertising in THE MILITARY ENGINEER magazine.
  • Attend the annual Engineer Service Chief Briefings - or arrange to obtain information on the meeting.
  • Visit the National Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
  • Attend Regional program update meetings (within your region or a nearby region).
  • Leave copies of your firm's brochures at National Headquarters.
  • Utilize the SAME personnel network to recruit special personnel (complimentary services).
  • Investigate SAME peripheral member benefits such as excellent group benefit programs, including insurance, the SAME Visa Card and Hertz car rentals.
  • Contact government agencies that may use you goods and/or services. File your 254 or 129 Forms, as appropriate.
  • Utilize The Society's Construction and Design Program Book to identify potential projects and procurement opportunities.
  • Participate in defense design and construction affairs at meetings and through special committees.
  • Brief staff members of your firm on the marketing and technical information contacts available through SAME.
Regular meetings and programs with the five Military Engineering Chiefs: Chief of Engineers, Department of Army Commander; Naval Facilities Engineering Command, The Civil Engineer, HQS, US Air Force
Chief, Office of Engineering, HQS, US Coast Guard Director; Charting and Geodetic Services, National Ocean Service and their principal staff officers. Meetings take place in Washington, DC, and at many other locations throughout the United States. Meetings concentrate on helping members understand complex defense and civil works contracting policies and procedures, how and where contracting is accomplished, and perhaps more pertinent, what the future holds.

  • Easy-to-read military and civil works design and construction program summaries, complete with contracting officers (names and phone numbers), and at no extra cost.
  • An opportunity for corporate members to showcase their products and services (at no cost) at the monthly meetings of our 158 chapters - called posts - and 16 regions, located all over the world - and at our annual National Conference.
  • Exposure "at the top" and preferential rates for advertising in our celebrated 75-year-old professional engineering magazine: THE MILITARY ENGINEER.
  • The "right audience" is reached through our magazine and periodical readers, and members who attended our meetings, - the "heads" of the military engineer and civil works offices, and professionals from industry (like yourself).
  • Helping shape tomorrow's programs and policies through participation in seminars sponsored by our Industry Liaison Committee that bring together the engineers and other leaders that make things happen in industry and government. Issues being addressed cover readiness planning, America's decaying infrastructure, the changing state-of-the-art of engineering and conservation (energy, soil, water; etc.)

Public Agency Sustaining Membership
 
Public Agency Sustaining Membership is a brand new membership recently approved by the board of direction that will consist of federal, state, county/parish, and city/municipal government entities. A Public Agency Membership cost is $300.00 and includes one principal, four alternates and a young member.
Public Agency Sustaining Membership Benefits:
  • Personally meet with the Post President and Regional Vice President on a frequent basis. Introduce your key Municipal Engineers to SAME and get then involved in Post/Regional Leadership.
  • Identify key contacts by associating with local Post members.
  • Attend Post meetings and arrange for the display of your agency's capabilities.
  • Investigate the possibility of Regional and National meeting displays and advertising in THE MILITARY ENGINEER magazine.

Student Membership

Student Members are over 500 engineering, architecture and science students in colleges and universities around the world. Student Memberships cost $6.00 per year.
